"5th Annual ACSO Art Show"

Dates: 3-7 August 2009

The Australian Community Support Organisation’s (ACSO) purpose is to make a difference in the lives of disenfranchised people by increasing opportunities for them to positively engage with their communities and by reducing the impact of social disadvantage.

This is the 5th Annual ACSO Art Show displaying works by clients of ACSO’s various residential, clinical, and outreach services. Art is one of the therapeutic media used by staff to encourage clients to express emotions, perceptions, feelings and thoughts. In this way, art also serves as a communication medium regardless of the creator’s verbal or written language skills. Through these annual art shows, the public is offered insight into the artists’ life experiences.
