Opening: Wednesday 2nd July, 6-9pm Dates: July 2 - July 5 2025
Bus Projects is excited to announce our 8th Editions Fundraiser Exhibition. This is our key annual fundraising event and features works by various emerging, mid-career and established artists.
The Editions Fundraiser was first offered in 2013 curated by Drew Pettifer called Sedition and was curated under the idea of artists responding to resistance or sedition (sedition refers to the crime of inciting rebellion against a government or established authority, often through words or actions).
12 years later, the arts community continues to face uncertainty, with threats to funding and the suppression of political critique or dissent - influencing artistic liberty and amplifying the need for resistance, freedom and expression.
As an Artist-Run Initiative (ARI), we are part of an important history of artists collectivising to create spaces of agency, self-determination, career development and knowledge-sharing within the broader art system. For over 23 years Bus Projects has been committed to supporting Australian artists to make and show their work. We are lucky to have received multi-year funding from Creative Australia that has enabled us to have one part-time (19hr/week) staff member and pay exhibiting artists a fee that aligns with NAVA rates. This fundraising campaign will allow us to support more artists and artsworkers in 2026.
With your invaluable support this fundraising campaign will raise funds for additional staff support and a more diverse program in 2026. All of the proceeds from this exhibition will go to our 2026 artistic program and an inaugural First Nations identified role.
