Michael Georgetti A PAINTING IS A DEMOCRACY

Michael Georgetti’s exhibition at Bus Projects is comprised of an unlikely array of found and readymade objects assembled precariously in order to deconstruct and expand upon the static nature of pictures. Poetics, temporality and material interventions are employed to create a dislocated space between painting and the banal and familiar qualities of the everyday world.

Michael Georgetti is a Melbourne based artist who completed his Masters of Fine Art at RMIT in 2007. He has exhibited at the AC Institute in New York (2009) and in 2013 received a Grizedale residency in the UK. Georgetti’s most recent exhibitions were held at Margaret Lawrence Gallery, West Space and Sawtooth (Tasmania).
