Exhibits,
Rebecca Delange, Elise Sheehan, Akira Akira Assembly
Opening: Wednesday 27 November, 6-8pm Dates: 27 November–14 December 2013A curated group exhibition exploring the idea of intuition and assemblage in a cadavre exquis format.
Jung theorized, that a person in whom intuition was dominant, acted not on the basis of rational judgment but on sheer intensity of perception. This limiting idea of intuition has however, recently been developed to include intuition with analysis, in tandem.
The group exhibition Assembly brings together a range of practices to explore the various methods of intuitive pattern recognition and analysis, the conscious and deliberate review of the course of action, which in the exhibition resolves with an assemblage.
In the act of seeing and responding, the collaborative meaning making is highlighted by the exhibitions structure. In fugue an artist will exhibit their work, while the next artist responds directly in the space. The first artist will install (Rebecca Delange), and overlap with Elise Sheehan, who will respond in the same space over a 1 week period. Finally Akira Akira will respond by installing in the third and final week.
This process will question: how does intuition urge conceptual precision?
Closing event and publication launch Saturday 14 Dec 6-8pm
