Exhibits,
Fiona Williams Fields and snow
Opening: Tuesday 7 August, 6-8pm Dates: 7 August–15 September 2012‘Fields and snow’ is a collection of small colour field and photo paintings, photographs and video recordings. Fields and snow alludes to processes of painting and collecting, and what may be found outside. Suggesting a contained area of space and what remains atmospheric, something still and something falling, an image and a sensation. And so this work pursues correlations between photography and painting, snow and paint, lightness and surface, while re-thinking what “landscape” can be, or do, now.
Fiona Williams is a Melbourne based artist. Williams works between painting, drawing, photography and video; working across modalities she is investigating different understandings of material images as records, and as means of generation and relation. This project was developed while a residency participant at The Banff Centre in Banff, Canada during November-December of 2011.
