Aaron C. Carter and Alice H. McIntosh Flirtacious Energy

Opening: Wednesday 7 August, 6 - 8pm Dates: 7 August - 31 August, 2019

Flirtacious Energy embodies the coalescing of two distinctly experimental and material practices. Using the idea of ‘dressing’ or ‘undressing’ the gallery as a point of departure, each artist uniquely applies a sort of soft architecture to the body of the space. Thinking about the layering and accumulation of material on to and into the work through gesture, the show seeks to create a space that merges the intimate language of clothing and textiles with the structural, domestic codes of fixings. Pockets and pleats emerge as facultative accessories, ruching and dyeing become methods towards structural interventions.
