Introducing Our New Co-Directors

We are excited to announce a new, three-person leadership team comprising Nina Mulhall, Kathryne Genevieve Honey and the newly appointed Jacina Leong.

Building on the deep learning and reflection undertaken during our 2020-2021 disorganising project, Kathryne, Nina and Jacina will jointly lead Bus Projects through a time of experimentation, testing and action, imagining new models of organisational innovation and forms of dynamic, diverse and unexpected artistic programming.

Kathryne Genevieve Honey is an artist, writer and producer living as a guest on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people. Kathryne currently holds the position of Co-Director at Bus Projects and General Manager at un Projects. She is on the Board of Caves Gallery and The Georges Mora Fellowship. Prior to this she was Development Coordinator at Chisenhale Gallery, London, and Gallery Manager at Sutton Gallery, Melbourne. Projects she has produced have been exhibited both locally and internationally, including at Frieze London, LA Contemporary, Ho Biennale, and Queensland Centre for Photography.

Nina Mulhall is an artist, curator and cultural producer living and working in Naarm Melbourne who has exhibited and produced work Nationally. Nina currently holds the position of Co-Director at Bus Projects. She is on the Board of the Friends of the Merri Creek Communities Engagement Subcommittee and is a member of the Artists Union Working Group. Previously she has held the role of Curator and Community Manager at Schoolhouse Studios and Production Manager at PlayReactive. She has her Masters of Arts and Community Practice from The University of Melbourne (VCAM) where her research focussed on dialogical practice and the role of artists and audiences in socially engaged practices.

Jacina Leong is an artist-curator who lives and works on unceded Wurundjeri Woiwurrung Country in Narrm Melbourne. Jacina is committed to the role that cultural organisations can play in bringing people together to explore and respond to overlapping crises and precarious futures through situated and purposeful, critical and creative initiatives. This commitment has been shaped by professional experiences working as a public programs curator, since 2008, with and for museums and galleries, universities and schools, local councils, arts festivals and libraries. Jacina is currently a Peer Assessor for the Australia Council for the Arts and Arts Queensland and member of the CAST (Contemporary Art and Social Transformation), CCARN (Climate Change Action and Research Network), DCP (Design and Creative Practice) and Mapping Future Imaginaries research groups at RMIT. She holds a BFA (Visual Arts) and MA (Research) from QUT and is currently completing her PhD.
