Exhibits,
Sara Jajou, Jermaine Ibarra Love Song
Opening: Wednesday 27 March, 6-8pm Dates: 27 March - 20 April 2024500 years ago I was introduced to violence.
52 years ago we were thrust into loss.
20 years ago I was carved out of love.
Last month I linked with grief.
So in the face of the world ending, I surrender my pain and return to love instead.
And that’s where I’m at right now.
Sara Jajou سارة ججو is an undisciplined caretaker working in the spaces between hospitality, art and community. She is interested in the interplay between languages and moved by the capacity for translation+interpretation in building cross-cultural kinship and love. Sara creates alongside motions of language preservation and development, community care and decolonising. Inshallah, she wishes to rest with her lover after the exhibition. @sarajajou
Jermaine Ibarra:
A hero image, a soiled dove, the ghost of fractures past.
Babaguhinism, bandages, berserker, bossman, bunso. Connects, connex, cool room, cut it.
Dedicated to the living and to everyone else.
Mosquito, gigil, kanto, love and money, mutant dreams, no empties, no mountains, no stars. Paminta, pasaway, practice, pusher, real life, saint jude, shadow box, shadow boxing, subtle manoeuvres.
The solar boys wake and ask ‘what have they done to the sun?’. @sanroqueparishchurch
