Exhibits,
Nikki Lam as our new Chair
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nikki Lam as our new Chair.
Lam is a visual artist, curator and producer based in Naarm and Hong Kong. Their audiovisual works have been shown across Australia and internationally. Lam is co-director of Hyphenated Projects, an artist-led project for Asian diaspora, and brings advisory experience from contributions to NETS Victoria, ACMI, Next Wave, Footscray Community Arts, and Seventh Gallery to name a few.
Completing the executive team is new Secretary Rosie Cham, a Brunswick lawyer who will soon join the Victorian Bar as barrister, and Melanie Lin, Portfolio Manager for Museums Victoria and former CFO for Creative Australia, continues as Treasurer.
Bus Projects’s board is also made up of Ruby Aitchison, Ella Cattach, Rosie Hazell, and Emily Wakeling. All Bus Projects board members are volunteers who give their time and expertise to ensuring the organisation fulfils its aims and functions as an artist-run initiative.
Lam says: ‘It is a privilege to join Bus Projects as the Board Chair, continuing the wonderful work led by current board, staff, artistic committee and volunteers. I am excited to contribute to the artist-led legacy at Bus Projects and to support an artistic home that has been bringing communities together for discourse, solidarity and experimentation since 2001. I look forward to working alongside current and new board members to strengthen Bus Projects as an initiative that supports artistic expressions and nurtures our collective imaginations.’
