‘Pulse’ is a collection of kinetic mechanical sculptures, or sculptural machines, which all display some form of audience-responsiveness. The machines provide their own, scarce light, creating a disorienting space where definitions and realities blur. ‘Pulse’ embraces ambiguity - in the twilight state, the unclear relationships between human and machine, and the machines’ forms which shift between the recognisable and the unknown.
