How do we form rituals, if they are not formed through habits? How do we form habits, if they are not formed through repetition?
Waking up at sunrise to see how the morning light changes colour on the same apartment building outside the window. Doom-scrolling in bed. Walking the same route to the end of the river. Recounting the same memories over and over, in an effort to preserve them over time.
‘Retrieval’ is a collaborative online project by Panda Wong, William Duan, Hannah Wu, and Angie Pai, which draws on rituals, how meaning might be generated through repetition, and how these meanings can be shared and transformed.
