Tracey Lamb Sold Exclusively Through Woolworths

Opening: Wednesday 18 May, 6-8pm Dates: 18 May – 4 June 2016
Image: Kieren Seymour

Sold exclusively through Woolworths, examines the components of geometry, images and memory in shaping place and identity. Tracey’s starting point for the work is a series of stylised drawings of British mid century interior décor, printed on the family crockery of her childhood.

Working with assemblage, abstraction and altered scale, Tracey’s work engages with an aesthetic that manifests in connections between sculpture, furniture and décor. She borrows from the conventions and aesthetics of modernism that is both familiar and removed allowing reinterpretation of forms though a system of incomplete memories and experiences.

Tracey Lamb is a Melbourne based artist working with sculpture and photography. She is currently studying for her Master of Fine Art at Monash University. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours), VCA, and Diploma of Visual Arts and a Diploma of Interior Design.

Tracey has exhibited in group and solo shows in Melbourne, Perth, Florence and Berlin. Selected galleries include Substation, PCP, CCP, Yarra Sculpture Gallery, Yering Station, Montsalvat, Seventh Gallery, Fondazione Studio Marangoni, Florence, Takt, Berlin, The City Library, George Patton Gallery, the Margaret Lawrence Gallery and the Windsor Hotel.
