"Such Is Life In The Tropics"
Kim Jaeger, Emelie Plunkett

Opening: Tuesday 20th May, 6-8pm
Dates: 20 May-7 Jun 2008

SUCH IS LIFE IN THE TROPICS! is a collaboration between Emelie Plunkett and Kim Jaeger; two women united through the art of eavesdropping and stitching.

Their collections aim to celebrate the bizarre little moments in other people’s lives that they have unearthed, and would otherwise be lost forever.

Their work is about recording the missing, the forgotten and the made up. The oddity of a small moment taken out of context.

The use of time-consuming craft techniques demonstrates a huge dedication to the image/text on their part. The sentiment suggested through techniques such as needlepoint can help heighten the level of curiosity of the viewer when experiencing the work.

More stitching less bitching - well not about anyone you know...
